If my last Instagram piece could be loosely conceptualised as visual history – depicting briefly in words and in photographs the city of Cartagena in the region of Murcia, in south-eastern Spain: its Art Nouveau architecture, tree-lined waterfront overlooking the Mediterranean, restored Roman Theatre, and medieval Castillo de la Concepcíon – this falls more into the realm of atmospheric holiday snaps.

Its fourteen photographs are in and about La Manga Club resort. From a water feature at the resort’s Hyatt Regency hotel, just beyond the hotel pool and the eighteenth hole of the golf course, we move to Las Lomas Village, and the first of three perspectives on the La Unión landscape, replete with cypresses and distant hills. After a late-night interlude in green, a sequence of images show La Cala fresh fish and seafood restaurant, atop the Cala del Barco, peering out beyond its beach cove towards the sea. Then back to Las Lomas and La Unión; and finally a brick barbecue, balcony and sun loungers.
