The Spanish word ‘mequetrefe’, which roughly translates as ‘good-for-nothing’, can be applied equally to a lousy person or a shoddy product and carries other connotations, of nosiness, boisterousness, a sort of persistent yet flippant meddling, cheapness, shallowness or silliness, it can label outsiders, stragglers, wayfarers, and bums. While the word is mostly used as a pejorative, more ambivalently it can signify unruliness even in the celebratory aspects of the term, revelry, short-termism, it can indicate a wanker or masturbator or the substance of cum.
